SPOTLIGHT ON POVERTY

Spotlight on Poverty and Opportunity is a nonprofit organization that works to raise awareness of poverty and opportunity issues, engage people in discussions about them, and provide resources to help address them. The website also hosts an online community where members can connect, share stories, and discuss solutions. Spotlight on Poverty and Opportunity works with partners across the country to advance policy solutions that improve economic security and opportunity for low-income Americans. Through its research and advocacy, the organization seeks to ensure that all people in the United States have access to the resources they need to achieve economic security.

SOUTHERN ECONOMIC ADVANCEMENT PROJECT

The Southern Economic Advancement Project (SEAP) is a non-profit organization that works to create economic opportunities for communities in the Southern United States. They are dedicated to developing and implementing innovative, equitable, and sustainable economic strategies that are tailored to the needs of the South. SEAP works to support the effective and equitable development of the South by focusing on economic development, education, and community engagement. They collaborate with local, state, and national partners to bring new economic ideas to the Southern context. SEAP also provides resources, technical assistance, and capacity building for individuals, organizations, and communities. Their ultimate goal is to create a vibrant and equitable economy in the South that promotes all people’s economic well-being, social justice, and environmental sustainability.

E. PLURIBUS UNUM FUND

The Unum Fund is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing racial equity in the United States. The Fund offers a comprehensive set of “Big Ideas for Racial Equity” to help communities and organizations achieve meaningful change. These ideas include: promoting economic opportunity, advancing civil rights and social justice, dismantling structural racism, strengthening communities, and investing in leaders of color. Each of these ideas includes strategies and tools to help individuals, organizations, and communities engage in meaningful change. Additionally, the Unum Fund provides resources to help organizations and individuals understand and address systemic racism, build capacity to create equity in their work, and create an inclusive environment. By implementing these ideas, the Unum Fund works to create a more equitable future for all.

BLACK ECONOMIC ALLIANCE FOUNDATION

The Black Economic Alliance (BEA) is a nonpartisan policy advocacy organization committed to improving the economic prospects of African Americans through the development of effective public policies. BEA focuses on policy research, polling, and data to drive social change. The organization works to identify economic issues that are important to African Americans, as well as to develop solutions that will create economic stability and build wealth. BEA is committed to working with policymakers, businesses, and communities to create policies that will enable African Americans to fully participate in the economic life of our nation. The organization works to ensure that African Americans have access to quality jobs, education, healthcare, and housing, and to create an environment of economic opportunity for all African Americans. In addition to its policy work, BEA also works with partners to create economic opportunity through the development of small businesses and entrepreneurship.

AMERICAN SOCIETY ON AGING

The American Society on Aging (ASA) is a professional membership organization dedicated to improving the lives of older adults and those who serve them. In order to achieve this goal, ASA has developed a five-year Strategic Plan, focusing on the areas of Aging and Economic Security. Through this plan, ASA seeks to empower older adults to gain economic security through improved access to services and supports, increased financial literacy, and expanded economic opportunities. In addition, ASA works to ensure that public policy, private sector initiatives, and other initiatives support economic security for all older adults. Finally, ASA advocates for increased public and private investment in research, programs, and services that address the needs of vulnerable older adults, including those with limited incomes and resources. By developing and implementing initiatives that promote economic security, ASA works to ensure that all older adults can live with dignity and independence.

NEIGHBORHOOD ECONOMICS WEALTH GAP TOOLKIT

The Neighborhood Economics Wealth Gap Toolkit provides resources to help communities bridge the gap between the haves and the have-nots. The toolkit offers a range of resources, including research, case studies, and strategies to help communities reduce the wealth gap. It focuses on three key strategies: increasing access to capital, creating pathways to asset-building, and developing entrepreneurial opportunities. The toolkit provides a number of resources and strategies to help communities reduce the wealth gap, including research on the economic impact of the wealth gap and case studies of successful efforts to reduce it.
